First indoor run in a Rochester basement: what I got wrong
roc_grow_585REGULAR12 days ago · Western NY
Wrapped up my first proper indoor attempt and I kept notes the whole way, mostly so I could be honest with myself about the mistakes. There were plenty and none of them were exotic.
Biggest one was humidity. A Rochester basement is a damp room pretending to be a dry room, and I did not respect that until it was a problem I had to solve in a hurry rather than one I had planned for. Second was overwatering out of anxiety, which every single guide warns about and I did anyway, because reading a warning and internalising it are different things. Third was that I moved too many variables at once, so when things improved I could not tell you which change did it.
Next run I am changing one thing at a time and writing down the numbers daily instead of when I remember. Happy to share the notes if that is useful to anyone starting in a similar space.
