Community rules

A short list, applied consistently. Posts and comments that break these rules are removed by moderators.

The rules

  1. 1. Who can post

Adult-use cannabis in New York is limited to adults aged 21 and over, so posting here is too. Confirming your date of birth is required before you take part, and one person means one account.

  2. 2. No fabricated reviews and no fake accounts

Write about places you have actually been and prices you have actually seen. Invented visits, invented reviews, second accounts used to agree with yourself, and organised voting all lead to removal.

  3. 3. Operators identify themselves

If you work for, own or are paid by a licensed business, say so in the post where you talk about it. Verified operator status is granted by us after checking a licence against the state filing — it is never self-service.

  4. 4. Prices need a date

A reported price is a factual claim about a real business, so every price carries the date it was reported and the member who reported it. Report what was on the shelf or the menu, not what you were told second-hand.

  5. 5. Nobody pays for placement

No business can buy a listing, a ranking, a pinned post or a mention. There is no advertising on this site. Undisclosed paid posting is removed and the account is closed.

  6. 6. No buying, selling or sourcing

Do not offer, request or arrange sales, trades or gifts of cannabis, and do not promote unlicensed sellers or unlicensed delivery. Discussing published prices at licensed retailers is fine; arranging a transaction is not.

  7. 7. Be accurate, cite where you can

Rules change often. When you state a limit, a tax rate or a legal requirement, link to the source so others can check it. Nothing here is legal or medical advice.

  8. 8. Keep it civil

No harassment, no hate speech, no doxxing, no spam. Disagree with the argument, not the person.

How moderation works

Anything on the site can be reported by any member, and reports go to a queue that moderators work through. Prices can be flagged as wrong; three flags hide a price automatically until someone reviews it.

Removal here is soft: nothing is deleted from the record. A removed post or comment is hidden from the board but stays visible to its author, marked as removed with a reason, so you always know what happened and why. If you think a removal was wrong, reply in the thread or use the contact details on the about page. Repeated or deliberate breaches — fake accounts, fabricated prices, undisclosed paid posting — end in a closed account rather than a warning.
