How long am I supposed to wait?

Everything I read says start low and wait, but nobody says how long is long enough before you decide nothing is happening. I waited an hour and then talked myself out of it. What do you do?

    The mistake I made early was assuming nothing was happening because I expected it to feel like something else.

    I give it a full two hours before I decide anything, and I try not to make claims beyond my own experience.
