Every dispensary interior in this city looks like the same Apple Store, why

Professional hazard, I look at rooms for a living. And I cannot stop noticing that a huge number of these places have converged on one identical look: pale wood, white walls, black sans serif type, one plant, everything under glass, lit like a phone store. Once you see it you cannot unsee it.
I understand where it came from. If you are a brand new category and you want to look legitimate and calming rather than sketchy, minimal and clinical is the safest possible choice. It photographs well and it offends nobody.
But it also means walking into somewhere in one borough feels the same as another, and the neighbourhood may as well not exist. The places I have actually enjoyed being in were the ones that looked like they belonged to their block. Has anyone else noticed this shifting, or are we stuck with the white box for another few years?
