What should a first visit actually be like?

I am sixty-two and completely new, and I would rather know what to expect than stand there looking lost. Do you queue, do you talk to someone, how long does it take? No names please, I just want the shape of it.

    Bring patience and do not go on a weekend afternoon. That is the whole advice.

    It is closer to a phone shop than anything medical. You will not look lost, everyone in there is asking something.
