Cash, card, or a fight about it
Half the counters I have been to want cash and the machine in the corner charges you for the privilege. Is that a rule somewhere or just how it shook out? Asking, not accusing.

Getting there after a closing shift
I finish at eleven most nights, which rules out basically everything. Anyone else on a hospitality schedule figured out how to make this work without giving up a day off?

Do the posted hours mean anything?
Drove out on a Sunday afternoon to a place that said it was open and it was not. Is that normal or was I unlucky? I would rather ask than assume the worst.

What should a first visit actually be like?
I am sixty-two and completely new, and I would rather know what to expect than stand there looking lost. Do you queue, do you talk to someone, how long does it take? No names please, I just want the shape of it.
